当院では、患者様の年齢、全身状態、前立腺の大きさ、服用中のお薬、ご希望などを総合的に評価し、一人ひとりに最適な治療をご提案しております。

近年、前立腺肥大症治療においては、従来のHoLEP／MoLEPやCVPなどの高い治療効果を有するレーザー手術に加え、身体への負担が少なく性機能温存が期待できるMIST（Minimally Invasive Surgical Therapy：低侵襲外科治療）が注目されています。

本年4月よりMISTの保険適用が拡大され、前立腺肥大症の患者様全般に対して治療選択肢としてご提案できるようになりました。これにより、患者様の症状やライフスタイル、ご希望に応じて、より幅広い治療法の中から最適な方法を選択できる時代となっています。

当院ではHoLEP、MoLEP、CVP、WAVE、PULをはじめとする各種治療に対応しており、それぞれの治療の利点と限界を十分にご説明したうえで、患者様とともに最適な治療方針を決定しております。

今後も前立腺肥大症専門クリニックとして、安全性を最優先にしながら、患者様に寄り添った質の高い医療を提供してまいります。

当院では、患者様の身体的負担や早期社会復帰を考慮し、前立腺肥大症手術を原則として日帰り手術で行っております。

一方で、ご高齢の方や遠方からお越しの方、ご本人やご家族が入院での治療をご希望される場合には、連携医療機関をご紹介し、本院での手術後入院にも対応しております。

113 BPH Procedures Performed in the First Half of 2026

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Surgical Volume Report: January–June 2026

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all patients who have entrusted their care to Kato Prostate Clinic Tokyo.

In the first half of 2026, we safely performed outpatient surgical treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) on many patients. We are pleased to share our surgical results from January through June 2026.

Surgical Volume

• HoLEP / MoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate): 83 cases
• CVP (Contact Laser Vaporization of the Prostate): 13 cases
• WAVE (Rezum Water Vapor Therapy): 17 cases

Total: 113 cases

At our clinic, we carefully evaluate each patient’s age, general health condition, prostate size, current medications, and personal preferences to recommend the most appropriate treatment option.

In recent years, treatment options for BPH have continued to evolve. In addition to highly effective laser procedures such as HoLEP, MoLEP, and CVP, increasing attention has been given to MIST (Minimally Invasive Surgical Therapy), which offers reduced physical burden and better preservation of sexual function.

Since April 2026, insurance coverage for MIST procedures in Japan has been expanded, allowing these therapies to be offered to a broader range of patients with BPH. As a result, patients now have access to a wider variety of treatment options and can select the approach that best matches their symptoms, lifestyle, and personal goals.

Our clinic provides a comprehensive range of BPH treatments, including HoLEP, MoLEP, CVP, WAVE (Rezum), and PUL (Prostatic Urethral Lift). We carefully explain the benefits and limitations of each treatment and work closely with patients to determine the most appropriate management plan.

As a specialized BPH treatment center, we remain committed to providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while continuing to expand treatment options for men suffering from urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate.

At our clinic, surgical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is generally performed as a same-day outpatient procedure, allowing patients to recover comfortably at home and return to their normal activities as soon as possible.

However, for elderly patients, those traveling from distant locations, or individuals who prefer hospitalization for additional reassurance, affiliated hospitals following surgery performed at our clinic.
